Designated Airworthiness Representatives (Dar-M)

This service allows the beneficiaries to apply for appointment and renewal of a General Authority of Civil Aviation (GACA) domestic Designated Engineering Representative (DER) in accordance with GACAR §183.379

Meeting the GACA DAR-M eligibility requirements shown in GACA eBook Volume 14 Chapter 5

Initiation, Technical Determination, Interview, DAR Designation Number, Certificate of Designation, and Letter of Appointment. Refer to GACA eBook Volume 14 Chapter 7 Section 2.

  1. A nomination for DER involvement for a specific project.
  2. AW06- Proof of fee payment
  3. Copy of current FAA DAR delegation including copies of the current FAA Certificate of Authorization (or equivalent documentation issued by GACA Recognized Foreign NAA).
  4. Evidence that the applicant meets all eligibility requirements shown in GACA eBook Volume 14 listed in paragraph 14.5.2.7 (Domestic) or 14.5.2.9 (Foreign).
  5. Letter of application addressed to Airworthiness Manager.

1.      DAR-M may apply for renewal of his DAR-M Certificate of Designation within 15 days of its expiration date or when changes in scope of approval are sought.
2.      Applications for renewals and changes in scope of approval must follow the same procedures as described for initial DAR-M appointment.
3.      Confirmed payment of all applicable fees is a requirement for an application to be accepted for processing by the GACA

  1. Application : The applicant must submit all relevant documents as requested by the General Authority of Civil Aviation.
  2. Review : GACA will review the documents submitted by the applicant and verify if it complies with the regulations and can ask the applicant to update his application.
  3. Issue : GACA will only issue the Certificate/Permit when the E-Service process allows it and GACA is completely satisfied that all regulatory requirements have been adequately addressed.
  4. Delivery : The Certificate/Permit will either be delivered electronically or manually according to the E-Service process.
